RIP Michael Jackson & Farrah Fawcett
posted by Jas, 06/25/09
The world lost two iconic figures today, Farrah Fawcett lost her long battle with cancer and passed away Thursday morning and Michael Jackson died of a cardiac arrest in the afternoon. My prayers and condolence to their fans, friends and families. To most people, 'Thriller', 'Beat It', 'Billie Jean', 'Bad' are their all time favourites but mine will always be 'Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough', I used to listen to it over and over and over again coz' I just couldn't get it out of my head. It's one of the songs that brings good memories of my teenage years. Rest in peace Michael.

Orlando's items on auction

Orlando's mom, Sonia plans to put up some of Orlando's possessions up for auction to raise money for charity. Speaking of charity, Orlando has sold a date with himself for $14,600 at a star-studded charity bash for London's Great Ormond Street Hospital on Wednesday.

Sonia Copeland-Bloom said she decided to sell items because they were taking up too much room in her Kent home. She wants to raise funds for the £25.6m redevelopment of the Marlowe Theatre and a number of other charities. Items that are going up for grabs include a wetsuit Bloom used while filming the Lord of the Rings in New Zealand and movie memorabilia. Sports equipment that he used while he was growing up in Canterbury and shoes he used on the set of the film Kingdom of Heaven will also be sold.

Ms Copeland-Bloom said: "We've got a wetsuit that he wore when he was filming with the hobbits. "This was off-screen, I must say. He was very keen on surfing in New Zealand. You can see that they've still got the sea and the sand on those." She added: "I visited the set in Wellington, New Zealand, several times. It was wonderful always when I went on there. "I was given this [signed Lord of the Rings] poster and however much I treasure it I think if it could make some money for some of the charities I support it would be a good thing."

Bloom appeared at the Marlowe Theatre early in his acting career and is now one of its patrons. In March its owners were given permission to build a 1,200-seat auditorium and a second 150-seat performance space will be built on the current site.

Sorry for the delay and the lack of updates these days, Transformers 2 and Harry Potter 6 are coming out soon so I'm currently busy with those, anyway, better late than never, here's a clip of Orlando at the Cannes Festival talking about Main Street and I have two clips of Orlando at the Burberry Lights Up celebration from SCMP and HLN.
