Sly dig at 'hero' Orlando Harman Sylvester Stallone has blasted "wimpy" film action heroes like Orlando Bloom. Stallone, 58, said: "Today's idea of an action hero is Orlando Bloom. Orlando Bloom? Give me a break." Brit Orlando stars in blockbuster movie Kingdom Of Heaven. But Stallone, who is set to film Rambo 4 and Rocky 6, is unimpressed. He said: "I'm still in my prime and I look forward to showing fans the REAL action hero again." -- The Sun
Orlando mention Darth Vader - alias actor Hayden Christensen - is aiming to shun the Dark Side and become...an architect. The 24-year-old Canadian has upset his fans by announcing: "Maybe the new Star Wars film will be my last movie."And he believes drawing up building plans will be more fun than films, according to The Sun. In Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, Hayden plays Anakin Skywalker, who turns into the evil Darth. It is a role which has given him worldwide stardom but he says it does not turn him on any more. The Sun quotes him as saying: "I don't find Hollywood interesting, so I'm thinking about studying architecture instead. "A film is a product and as an actor you can only sell it if you sell yourself. "You don't get to sit at the table before you're ready to give away your integrity. "Maybe it works for Orlando Bloom. It doesn't work for me."
KOH at the box office Sixth spot goes to Kingdom of Heaven, another film that got hammered by Star Wars. The Orlando Bloom epic took in an extremely soft $3.4 million this weekend, as domestic box office continues to evade historical epics. Kingdom of Heaven has already grossed more than $100 million in international sales, but looks like it will struggle to make $50 million domestically. BOP deals mainly with domestic grosses, so let me say again that Kingdom is a domestic disaster, considering its $130-$185 million price tag. At least Troy made more than $10 million in its third weekend, and at least Fox has that $50 million fee from the Star Wars release. So far, Kingdom has earned a paltry $41 million.
