Keith Richards Will star in "Pirates" sequel Rolling Stone Keith Richards will star as Captain Jack Sparrow's father in one of the two upcoming 'Pirates of the Caribbean' sequels, co-star Bill Nighy has confirmed. Johnny Depp, who plays Captain Sparrow, has been trying to persuade Richards to make a cameo for months, after revealing his character was based on the guitarist. It was thought The Rolling Stones tour schedule stood in the way, but Depp was confident - earlier this month he said, "It's looking very good." And Nighy - who plays Davey Jones in 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest' - is happy to end the speculation. The British actor says, "I can confirm, Keith Richards will appear in Pirates of the Caribbean 2 or 3. I'm not sure which one, because they are being filmed back to back." ------------------ Johnny Depp realized a longtime dream when Keith Richards agreed to play Depp's monkey in the sequel to Pirates of the Caribbean. Depp, who used Richards' trademark mincing gait and effeminate mannerisms as the "rhythm track" for his portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow in the original Pirates, had been considering Richards for a cameo role as Maceio Sparrow, Captain Jack's wayward father. When script writer Roland Diaz added a rum-drinking, feces-flinging monkey named Captain Morgan to the script, however, Depp knew immediately that Richards was his primate. "As soon as I saw the monkey in the storyboards, I thought of Keith," laughed Depp, "I knew he was my man. His simian mouth and apelike stare are perfect for the role." Depp, who admits to having been a "a Keef fan forever," said Richards wasn't keen on the idea at first; but after "a dozen or so vodka-and-Tangs he grunted yes, picked a couple of fleas off his arm, and slouched off to pee in a corner." According to Depp, the monkey is befriended by Captain Sparrow during a layover at a whore house on a remote island in the Virgin Gordas. After Sparrow is back on the high seas, he discovers the monkey stealing hardtack and rum from the ship's larder. "Jack and the monkey develop a bond from there," laughs Depp, "and the monkey winds up saving Jack's ass more than once in sea battles." Although Richards has never appeared in a movie before, Depp doesn't consider that an obstacle. "There's no dialog for Keith to learn, and he won't have to spend a lot of time in make up," said Depp. "The part's made to order for him."
Orlando mention Like Longoria, Orlando Bloom has reached out to an up-and-coming charity via Peace Games, a 13-year-old nonprofit that works with K-8 students in communities plagued by violence in Boston, Los Angeles and Fairbanks, Alaska. "In Los Angeles, there's a lot of big, very wonderful nonprofits (and causes) that celebrities get involved with like pediatric AIDS, and it's kind of what a lot of celebrities do," says Peace Games president Eric Dawson, who also counts Adrien Brody, Matt Damon and Sanaa Lathan among the organization's financial backers. "But there's a group of younger celebrities that is attracted to Peace Games because it's really deep and meaningful. So, it's not a one-day, put-on-a-T-shirt, get-your-picture-taken kind of program."
