A reminder that George Clooney and Wyclef Jean are staging a global telethon to raise money for the Haiti earthquake survivors, the event will air commercial-free across ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN, BET, the CW, HBO, MTV, VH1 and CMT on Friday, January 22, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. All donations will directly benefit Oxfam America, Partners in Health, Red Cross, UNICEF and Wyclef’s Yele Haiti Foundation. The show will be hosted by Clooney in Los Angeles, Jean in New York and CNN’s Anderson Cooper in Haiti. Hope for Haiti Now will begin accepting donations at 12:00 p.m. ET/9:00 a.m. PT on Friday.
Some of the celebrities scheduled to appear are President Bill Clinton, Brad Pitt, Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Clint Eastwood, Leonardo DiCaprio, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Jon Stewart, Will Smith with Muhammad Ali, Robert Pattinson, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Meryl Streep, Morgan Freeman, Nicole Kidman, Robert Pattinson, Samuel L. Jackson, Charlize Theron, Tim Allen, David Archuleta, Alec Baldwin, Kristin Chenoweth, Cindy Crawford, Sacha Baron Cohen, John Krasinski, Jack Nicholson, Vanessa Hudgens, Katharine McPhee, Ashley Tisdale and more.
Among the performers: Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira and Sting in New York City. In Los Angeles performers include Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift and a collaboration by Keith Urban, Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow. In London, Coldplay will perform, and there will be a group performance by Jay-Z, Rihanna and U2′s Bono and The Edge.
Music performances from “Hope for Haiti Now” will be available for purchase and download on the iTunes Store. Beginning on Friday, iTunes customers will be able to exclusively pre-order both the “Hope for Haiti Now” full performance album ($7.99), the full two-hour video telecast ($1.99) and individual audio performances ($0.99). Pre-orders will be delivered in the days following the telethon.

LPU Auction
LPU will be hosting an auction from January 26 through February 7 that will feature rare Linkin Park items available to LPU members. Items include an autographed pieace of “New Divide” music video set, Meteora stand/cut out, autographed Hybrid Theory EP and an autographed vintage messange bag among others. Harry Potter Fans
Harry Potter fans have joined with members of fandoms from other popular books, movies, and tv series (including Heroes, Lost, True Blood, The Wire and Firefly) to create Helping Haiti Heal, a home-grown effort to contribute to the growing humanitarian aid and charitable relief activities in Haiti. This Saturday, January 23rd, at 2 P.M. EST, HPA’s PotterWatch, PotterCast, MuggleCast, Hogwarts Radio, and FictionAlley will come together for a live fundraising webcast here on Livestream to benefit Partners in Health . This four hour live event will feature a donation drive where donors have the opportunity to win prizes, live performances from many wizard rockers; leaders in fan communities; personal interviews with Haitian-Americans about the importance of giving to Partners In Health; human rights activists; a representative from MIT’s Media Lab discussing ways that we can donate our time using new media; and much more. Lady Gaga Auction
If you’re Lady Gaga’s fans, proceeds from her January 24 concert in New York including ticket sales and mechandise will go to Haiti relief. Also on that day any merchandise bought at LadyGaga.com, the money will go to Haiti.
Scarlett Johansson
Scarlett Johansson who is currently appearing on Broadway in Arthur Miller’s “A View From the Bridge,” is working with Oxfam to auction off four tickets to the opening night of her play and a chance to meet the actress after the curtain call this Sunday. As of press time, the winning bid on the eBay auction stood at $2,225.

Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie are planning a massive 25th anniversary re-recording of “We Are the World” to aid Haiti. The duo is summoning lots and lots of talent from Grammy weekend to stay an extra night — Monday, Feb. 1 — and come to the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. More details

Simon Cowell will release a charity single to raise money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake, no artist has been confirmed yet but expect Susan Boyle and Leona Lewis on the list so watch for it!
